Riley Keough

Keough began modeling as a teenager, walking in runway shows for Dolce & Gabbana and Christian Dior. She appeared on the cover of Vogue with her mother, Lisa Marie Presley, and grandmother, Priscilla Presley, and later worked with brands including Dior, David Yurman, and Bonds.

Her frequent travel made a conventional school routine difficult, and she was eventually homeschooled. Keough has said that she became interested in acting as a child after watching Nicole Kidman in Moulin Rouge! and spent time writing and directing movies and plays at home.

Keough made her film debut in The Runaways (2010), playing Marie Currie opposite Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart. Early roles included The Good Doctor, Jack & Diane, Magic Mike, and Kiss of the Damned. She gained wider exposure as Capable in George Miller's Mad Max: Fury Road (2015), which also starred Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron.

Her later film work has covered independent drama, horror, crime, and dark comedy. She earned an Independent Spirit Award nomination for American Honey (2016), appeared in It Comes at Night, Logan Lucky, The House That Jack Built, Under the Silver Lake, and The Lodge, and received further recognition for playing Stefani in Zola (2020). Her television credits include The Terminal List, Riverdale, and Under the Bridge, in which she portrayed journalist Rebecca Godfrey and served as an executive producer.

Keough played the title character in the 2023 Amazon Prime Video miniseries Daisy Jones & the Six, an adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid's novel about a fictional 1970s rock band. The role marked a significant musical performance for Keough, who had limited prior musical experience before joining the project.

She and the cast undertook singing and instrumental training, and Keough performed lead vocals for the fictional band's album, Aurora. Her performance earned nominations for a Primetime Emmy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and an MTV Movie & TV Award.

In 2017, Keough formed the production company Felix Culpa with producer Gina Gammell. The company developed film and television projects and expanded Keough's work beyond acting.

Keough and Gammell co-directed and produced War Pony, a coming-of-age drama about two Lakota Indigenous boys living on a reservation. The film premiered at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival and won the Caméra d'Or for best first feature. Keough also produced Manodrome and served as an executive producer on Sasquatch Sunset and Under the Bridge.

Keough's mother, Lisa Marie Presley, died in January 2023. Afterward, Keough became the sole trustee of the trust controlling her mother's estate and Graceland. Her half-sisters, Harper and Finley Lockwood, remained beneficiaries of sub-trusts established for their interests.

Keough also completed her mother's unfinished memoir, From Here to the Great Unknown, using autobiographical recordings Lisa Marie had made before her death. The book, credited to both mother and daughter, was published in October 2024, and Keough narrated its audiobook with Julia Roberts. Keough later discussed the memoir and her family history in a CBS special interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Keough met Australian stuntman Ben Smith-Petersen while working on Mad Max: Fury Road. They became engaged in 2014 and married in Napa, California, in 2015. She has been married to Smith-Petersen since 2015.

The couple welcomed a daughter, Tupelo Storm, via surrogate in August 2022. Tupelo's name refers to Tupelo, Mississippi, the birthplace of Elvis Presley, and also includes the middle name of Keough's late brother, Benjamin. A second child was born in 2025, with the child's name and gender kept private.
