Von Miller

Miller was born to Von and Gloria Miller, who were both collegiate athletes and operated a power supply business. He grew up alongside his younger brother, Vinsynzie. Miller has two children with a longtime girlfriend.

Outside of athletics, Miller majored in poultry science at Texas A&M University and operates his own farm raising chickens. He also established Von's Vision, a charitable foundation dedicated to providing eye examinations and corrective eyewear to underprivileged youth. In 2016, Miller competed on season 22 of the television dance competition Dancing with the Stars, partnering with professional dancer Witney Carson and finishing in eighth place.

Miller played college football for the Texas A&M Aggies from 2007 to 2010. After contributing as a defensive end in his freshman year, he transitioned into an outside linebacker and hybrid pass-rushing role. In 2009, his breakout junior campaign saw him lead the entire NCAA with 17 sacks while adding 21.5 tackles for loss, securing first-team All-American recognition.

As a senior in 2010, Miller overcame an early ankle sprain to post 10.5 sacks and 17.5 tackles for loss in Tim DeRuyter's 3-4 defensive system. At the conclusion of the season, he received the Dick Butkus Award as the nation's premier linebacker and earned consensus first-team All-American honors.

The Denver Broncos selected Miller with the second overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft. Wearing jersey number 58 in tribute to Hall of Fame linebacker Derrick Thomas, Miller made an immediate defensive impact. He earned the 2011 AP NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award after compiling 11.5 sacks. In 2012, he set a Broncos single-season franchise record with 18.5 sacks and finished second in NFL Defensive Player of the Year voting.

Miller reached the peak of his Denver tenure during the 2015 postseason. In the AFC Championship Game against the New England Patriots, he sacked Tom Brady 2.5 times and recorded an interception. In Super Bowl 50 against the Carolina Panthers, Miller produced one of the most dominant defensive showings in NFL championship history, tallying 2.5 sacks and forcing two fumbles from quarterback Cam Newton. One strip-sack resulted in a defensive touchdown, and the other halted a late Panthers drive to secure a 24-10 Denver victory, earning Miller Super Bowl MVP honors.

During his decade in Denver, Miller became the Broncos' all-time career sacks leader with 110.5 sacks. He was selected to eight Pro Bowls, earned three first-team All-Pro honors, and was named to the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team.

In November 2021, the Broncos traded Miller to the Los Angeles Rams for second- and third-round draft selections. Joining a star-studded defense, Miller helped the Rams advance to Super Bowl LVI. In the championship game against the Cincinnati Bengals, he registered two sacks in a 23-20 victory, capturing his second Super Bowl ring and tying Charles Haley's NFL record for the most career Super Bowl sacks at 4.5.

In March 2022, Miller signed with the Buffalo Bills. Although his debut season was shortened by a torn ACL, he returned to contribute in subsequent campaigns before parting ways with the franchise. He later joined the Washington Commanders for the 2025 season, leading the team with nine sacks, before signing with his hometown Dallas Cowboys in 2026.
