Adam Joseph

Adam Joseph and his husband, Karl Kraft, welcomed their son Jacob in 2014 and their daughter Hannah in 2016. Their story received national and international attention after Joseph became the first Philadelphia on-air personality to officially come out publicly.

Joseph's family life also features prominently in his holiday traditions. He and Kraft decorate their Chester County home with elaborate indoor and outdoor displays, host a holiday party, and make desserts with Jacob and Hannah.

Joseph joined the Action News AccuWeather Team at WPVI in April 2005 and serves as the weekday senior meteorologist on Action News at 4 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. on PHL 17. He also contributes to station specials, including the 6abc Dunkin' Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Flower Show preview and the Auto Show preview.

Before joining WPVI, Joseph was chief meteorologist at WBOY-TV in Clarksburg, West Virginia, and later worked at WSAZ-TV in Charleston-Huntington, West Virginia. He received the AMS Seal of Approval for Television and several awards for meteorology excellence during his time at WSAZ.

Joseph has filled in on ABC's Good Morning America dozens of times. He was voted Philadelphia's Best Meteorologist by Philadelphia Magazine in 2009 and received the Philadelphia Business Journal's 40 Under 40 award in 2011 for professional excellence and community involvement. He has also won multiple best on-air meteorologist honors from Main Line Today.

Joseph developed an interest in weather during childhood and attended a school Weather Club between fourth and eighth grade. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Lyndon State College in 2000, where he forecast and anchored weather on LSC-TV beginning in 1998.

He completed his first triathlon in Richwood, West Virginia, in 2001 and later completed more than a dozen triathlons. In 2013, he entered seven triathlons, including a 70.3 half Ironman in Bear, Delaware. Although he no longer races, he follows his children's participation in sports.

Joseph is involved with Hospice and the American Cancer Society. He has also hosted the West Chester Christmas Parade with WMMR's Kathy Romano and has expressed an ambition to publish a cookbook and host a cooking and gardening show.
