Ángela Aguilar

Ángela Aguilar confirmed her relationship with Mexican singer-songwriter Christian Nodal in June 2024. They married in a private ceremony on July 24, 2024, at Hacienda San Gabriel de las Palmas in Morelos, Mexico.

Aguilar and Nodal had known each other for years through the regional Mexican music scene. They traveled together during the Jaripeo Sin Fronteras tour and collaborated on the 2020 song "Dime Cómo Quieres." In 2025, Aguilar described married life as "amazing" and called Nodal her number one fan.

Aguilar was born into La Dinastía Aguilar, a multigenerational Mexican musical family. Her father is singer Pepe Aguilar, her brother is singer Leonardo Aguilar, and her paternal grandparents were singer-actors Antonio Aguilar and Flor Silvestre. She frequently accompanied her family on tour throughout Latin America while growing up.

She first performed onstage at age 3, when Pepe Aguilar placed a microphone on her during one of the final tours of Antonio Aguilar. She sang part of "Si Vieras," an experience that helped establish her interest in performing. At age 7, she visited a recording studio and recorded covers of Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" and Bette Midler's "Wind Beneath My Wings."

In 2012, at age 9, Aguilar released Nueva Tradición with Leonardo Aguilar. The collaborative album contained four songs by each sibling. At 13, she became the youngest performer at the BBC 100 Women festival in Mexico City.

Aguilar released her first solo studio album, Primero Soy Mexicana, on March 2, 2018. Produced by Pepe Aguilar, the album consisted of ranchera songs previously performed by artists including Lucha Villa, Rocío Dúrcal and Flor Silvestre. Its first single, "Tu Sangre en Mi Cuerpo," was performed at the 2018 Premios Tu Mundo.

At the 19th Annual Latin Grammy Awards, Aguilar received nominations for Best New Artist and Best Ranchero/Mariachi Album for Primero Soy Mexicana. She performed "La Llorona" during the ceremony and received a standing ovation. The performance was broadcast to audiences in more than 80 countries and drew praise from ranchera singer Vicente Fernández.

The album was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Regional Mexican Music Album, making Aguilar one of the youngest artists nominated for both Grammy and Latin Grammy honors. She later released the tribute EP Baila Esta Cumbia in 2020 and the album Mexicana Enamorada in 2021, which also received a Latin Grammy nomination.

In 2018, Aguilar joined Pepe Aguilar, Leonardo Aguilar and her uncle Antonio Aguilar Jr. for the family tours Jaripeo Sin Fronteras and Jaripeo Hasta Los Huesos. The productions combine mariachi, banda and norteño music with horses, charro clothing and Mexican rodeo traditions. Pepe Aguilar also produced her music and guided her career as both her father and manager.

Aguilar partnered with Voto Latino in 2018 to encourage Latino Americans to register and vote in U.S. elections. She has spoken about maintaining a strong connection to Mexican culture while being born and raised in Los Angeles and holding citizenship in both Mexico and the United States.

Her musical influences include Rocío Dúrcal, Whitney Houston, Alicia Keys, Lady Gaga, Pink Floyd, Coldplay and The Rolling Stones. In 2019, with Lady Gaga's permission, Aguilar recorded an English-language cover of "Shallow" from A Star Is Born for the Recording Academy's YouTube channel. Her stage wardrobe similarly combines traditional Mexican charro and folkloric clothing with modern silhouettes.
