Austin Theory

Austin Tyler White was born in McDonough, Georgia. His parents divorced prior to his birth, and he has two younger half-brothers from his mother's second marriage. He is of Latin American descent through his mother. White adheres to a straight edge lifestyle, a choice influenced in part by his father's alcoholism.

White attended Union Grove High School in Georgia. He was a passionate professional wrestling fan from childhood, having set his sights on joining WWE at eight years old and viewing John Cena as a major inspiration. Outside of wrestling, he has been in a long-term relationship with fellow fitness enthusiast Jordyn Leonard.

Before entering professional wrestling, White competed in competitive bodybuilding. In 2015, at the age of 17, he won first place in the Teen Men category at the NPC Georgia Bodybuilding Championship. He pursued bodybuilding specifically to catch the eye of WWE scouts after learning they frequently attended physique competitions.

He began his in-ring training under AR Fox at the WWA4 Wrestling School in Atlanta. Making his debut in April 2016 under the ring name Austin Theory, he defeated Fox just days later to win the WWA4 Heavyweight Championship. Over the next three years, Theory became a prominent fixture on the independent circuit, competing for promotions such as Fire Star Pro Wrestling, Full Impact Pro, and Evolve. In December 2017, he defeated Fred Yehi for the FIP World Heavyweight Championship, and he later claimed both the WWN Championship and the Evolve Championship.

Theory also competed internationally in Mexico for The Crash Lucha Libre. In March 2019, he won The Crash Heavyweight Championship in a four-way match against Willie Mack, Bárbaro Cavernario, and Sansón. He additionally made appearances for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre before concluding his independent run.

After attending a WWE tryout in February 2018, Theory officially signed with WWE in August 2019 and reported to the WWE Performance Center. He made his televised NXT debut in December 2019, challenging Roderick Strong for the NXT North American Championship.

In late 2020, Theory aligned with Johnny Gargano, Candice LeRae, and Indi Hartwell to form the villainous faction known as The Way. Serving as Gargano's protégé, Theory helped Gargano capture the NXT North American Championship at NXT TakeOver: WarGames. He remained a central character in NXT programming throughout 2021, competing in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic alongside Gargano before transitioning full-time to the main roster.

Drafted to the Raw brand in late 2021, Theory adopted a character known for taking selfies during and after his matches. He was soon introduced into storylines as the on-screen protégé of WWE chairman Vince McMahon. In April 2022, performing mononymously as Theory, he defeated Finn Bálor on Raw to win his first WWE United States Championship, becoming the youngest wrestler to hold the title under the WWE banner.

At Money in the Bank in July 2022, Theory lost the United States Championship to Bobby Lashley, but was entered into the Men's Money in the Bank ladder match later that evening and won the contract, making him the youngest Money in the Bank winner in WWE history. In November 2022, at Survivor Series WarGames, he defeated Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley in a triple threat match to capture his second United States Championship. His second reign lasted 258 days, highlighted by a title defense against John Cena on Night 1 of WrestleMania 39.

In late 2023, Theory formed a tag team with Grayson Waller known as A-Town Down Under. At WrestleMania XL, the duo competed in a six-pack ladder match and retrieved the SmackDown Tag Team Championship, which was subsequently rebranded as the WWE Tag Team Championship. They held the titles for 90 days before losing them to Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa.

Following the dissolution of A-Town Down Under, Theory joined The Vision alongside Bron Breakker and Logan Paul, with Paul Heyman managing the group. Theory and Paul captured the World Tag Team Championship from The Usos in March 2026. Following an injury to Paul, Breakker stepped in under the Freebird rule to defend the titles alongside Theory, continuing the faction's reign on Raw with assistance from Maxxine Dupri.
