Jang Won-young

Jang Won-young was born in Seoul, South Korea, and was street-cast by Starship Entertainment in 2017 while attending her older sister's graduation ceremony. She trained with the company for about one year and two months before appearing on Produce 48. Her older sister, actress Jang Da-ah, is also represented by an entertainment company connected to Starship.

After debuting with Iz*One, Jang left Yonggang Middle School and completed her secondary education through a qualification exam and home-schooling arrangements. She achieved perfect scores in Korean, English, and mathematics, and graduated from the School of Performing Arts Seoul on February 9, 2023.

Jang represented Starship Entertainment on Mnet's Produce 48 alongside An Yu-jin and Cho Ka-hyeon. She finished the competition in first place at the age of 13, earning a place in the project girl group IzOne and becoming its center. IzOne debuted on October 29, 2018, with the extended play ColorIz* and the lead single "La Vie en Rose".

Iz*One's debut releases achieved immediate commercial success, and the group received several New Artist of the Year awards. Its Japanese debut single, "Suki to Iwasetai," followed in 2019, while Jang and Sakura Miyawaki were selected to center a collaborative performance involving Nogizaka46, Keyakizaka46, and AKB48. Jang also made her runway debut at the Tokyo Girls Collection in 2019.

On IzOne's 2020 studio album BloomIz, Jang received her first credited lyric-writing work for "Dreamlike." The group concluded its contract and disbanded on April 29, 2021, after which she returned to Starship Entertainment.

Starship Entertainment revealed Jang as one of the members of IVE in November 2021. She officially debuted with the group on December 1, 2021, with the single album Eleven. An Yu-jin, her former Iz*One groupmate and fellow Starship trainee, also joined IVE.

Before IVE's debut, Jang became a host of the television music program Music Bank with Enhypen's Sunghoon. She held the role from 2021 to 2023, received the Best Couple Award with Sunghoon at the 2021 KBS Entertainment Awards, and stepped down after sixteen months. She subsequently hosted several major events, including the Asia Artist Awards, the KBS Song Festival, KCON LA, and the KBS Music Bank Global Festival.

Jang has increasingly contributed lyrics to IVE releases. Her credits include "Mine" and "Shine with Me" from I've Ive, "OTT" from I've Mine, "Blue Heart" from Ive Switch, "Attitude" from Ive Empathy, "XOXZ" from Ive Secret, and "Bang Bang" and "8" from Revive+. "8" was performed as her first solo track during IVE's Show What I Am World Tour and reached number 17 on the Circle Digital Chart.

Jang has received sustained attention for her fashion, beauty, advertising, and stage presence. She has frequently appeared in brand reputation rankings for girl group members and was placed 29th on the 2026 Forbes Korea Power Celebrity 40. Her public image has also been associated with the expression "Lucky Vicky," which combines her English name, Vicky, with an optimistic outlook.

Her influence has extended to products promoted by brands with which she has worked. Hapa Kristin's contact lenses became associated with the phrase "Jang Won-young lens," and her appearances at Paris Fashion Week generated substantial fashion-media attention. In 2025, she discussed the song "Blue Heart" as being inspired by the intense scrutiny faced by women in the entertainment industry.

Jang has also appeared in a promotional video for the 2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Leaders' Meeting in South Korea alongside figures including G-Dragon, director Park Chan-wook, footballer Park Ji-sung, DJ Peggy Gou, chef Anh Sung-jae, and President Lee Jae Myung.

Jang began appearing in commercial projects during her trainee period, including Pepsi Korea's "Love It Live It" music video in 2018. During her IzOne years, she appeared on magazine covers and worked with brands including Dior, Miu Miu, and Laura Mercier. After IzOne's disbandment, she appeared in fashion films for Chaumet and Miu Miu and became a global ambassador for Innisfree in 2021.

Her later endorsements included Kirsh, Miu Miu, SK Telecom, Gospheres, Hapa Kristin, Eider, Fred Joaillier, Suecomma Bonnie, SJSJ, Amuse, Rolarola, Kérastase, and Tommy Jeans. Fred Joaillier named her its first Korean ambassador, while Miu Miu appointed her a brand ambassador in 2021.

In 2025 and 2026, Jang represented Woori Bank, Malto, Binggrae's Deep & Low, Dyson Korea, Dashing Diva, Downy Korea, Medicube, Bulgari, Barrie, and Dr. Althea. She also collaborated with Medicube on the Forever:Cherry hair-brush line, which launched in Japan in 2026.
