Max Brosmer

Brosmer is the son of Colin and Jayna Brosmer and has a brother named Fish. His father played club volleyball at Ohio State, while his mother and grandmother work as nurses.

During his time as a student-athlete, Brosmer completed an undergraduate degree in biomedical science at the University of New Hampshire and began pursuing a master's degree in kinesiology. Away from the football field, his personal interests include playing the guitar and playing chess.

Brosmer attended Centennial High School in Roswell, Georgia, where he served as the football team's starting quarterback. Over his high school career, he amassed 7,252 passing yards and 61 passing touchdowns, in addition to running for 789 yards and seven touchdowns.

As a junior, Brosmer passed for 3,750 yards and 30 touchdowns, earning All-Region First Team and Georgia Sportswriters Association All-State Second Team recognition. In his senior year, he registered 3,459 passing yards and 31 passing touchdowns in 10 games, which earned him Regional Offensive Player of the Year honors and the school's Centennial Excalibur Award.

After receiving his only Division I scholarship offer from the University of New Hampshire, Brosmer enrolled in 2019 and was named the starting quarterback as a true freshman. He threw for 1,967 yards and 12 touchdowns in his debut season. Following a pandemic-shortened spring season in 2021, Brosmer suffered a torn ACL during preseason training and missed the entire fall 2021 campaign as a medical redshirt. He returned as the starter in 2022, passing for 3,154 yards and 27 touchdowns while leading the Wildcats into the second round of the FCS playoffs. In 2023, he led the entire NCAA Division I FCS with 3,464 passing yards and 29 touchdowns, earning First-Team All-CAA honors and finishing as a finalist for the Walter Payton Award.

Brosmer transferred to the University of Minnesota as a graduate student for the 2024 season. Starting all 13 games for the Golden Gophers, he completed 268 passes to establish a single-season school record. He finished his final college season with 2,828 passing yards and 18 touchdowns, helping Minnesota compile an 8-5 record that concluded with a victory in the 2024 Duke's Mayo Bowl.

After going unselected in the 2025 NFL Draft, Brosmer signed with the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent. He earned a place on the initial 53-man roster out of training camp and made his regular-season debut on September 21, 2025, against the Cincinnati Bengals, becoming the first quarterback from the University of New Hampshire to take a snap in an NFL game.

Brosmer made his first career NFL start on November 30, 2025, against the Seattle Seahawks in place of an injured J. J. McCarthy, becoming the first undrafted rookie quarterback to start a game for the Vikings. He earned his second start on Christmas Day against the Detroit Lions, where he led Minnesota to a 23-10 victory. In that game, Brosmer became the only quarterback in the Super Bowl era to throw for fewer than 70 passing yards, absorb seven or more sacks, and still win. He concluded his rookie season appearing in seven games, throwing for 328 yards with 47 completions on 71 attempts.
