Rocsi Diaz

Rocsi Diaz was born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, and moved with her family to New Orleans, Louisiana, as a child. She is of Honduran and Chilean descent. She attended West Jefferson High School in Harvey, Louisiana, and later graduated from Nicholls State University.

During middle school and high school, Diaz experienced anorexia while pursuing her interest in cheerleading. She later discussed that period publicly on 106 & Park.

Diaz began her broadcasting career in Dallas, Texas, as a host on the hip-hop station KBFB 97.9 The Beat. She subsequently worked as a DJ at Boston's Hot 97.7.

In 2004, she moved to Chicago and became the midday DJ at Power 92, WPWX-FM. There she became known by the nickname "The Midday Mami," developing the street-smart on-air style that helped lead to her television work.

Diaz joined BET's 106 & Park on July 6, 2006, after winning the role of co-host. She presented the program alongside Terrence J, becoming one of the show's principal on-air personalities during her run from 2006 to 2012.

Her work on the countdown show expanded her international visibility. Diaz and Terrence J taped footage in Japan for the program's debut there and appeared at the MTV Video Music Awards Japan. She also appeared as a BET News correspondent in the video game Def Jam: Icon in 2007.

On November 19, 2012, Diaz joined Entertainment Tonight as a daily correspondent and weekend co-host. She was part of the cast when the program received the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Entertainment News Program in 2014. During her work on the program, she served as a correspondent alongside Nancy O'Dell.

Diaz joined HLN in 2015 as a Los Angeles contributor for The Daily Share. She later hosted the third season of VH1's Dating Naked, provided color commentary for USA Network's Cannonball alongside Mike Mizanin, and hosted Fox's reality singing competition Alter Ego in 2021. Her later television credits also include correspondent work on GMA3: What You Need to Know and hosting duties on We Got Time Today.

Diaz's acting credits include Gang of Roses II: Next Generation, in which she played Kate, and The Last Letter, in which she played Claudia. She also appeared in Soul Ties as Paula, Armed as Maria, and Always and Forever as Miranda Scott.

She played Angel in Dutch II: Angel's Revenge and appeared in other projects including The Bounce Back, Beyond the Lights, Brothers, and Hit the Floor. Her television and film work has included both acting roles and appearances as herself.
