Tomi Lahren

Lahren has been married to former Major League Baseball catcher J. P. Arencibia since October 21, 2022. She was previously engaged to Brandon Fricke, but the engagement ended in 2020.

She moved from Los Angeles to Nashville in 2020. Lahren owns a chihuahua mix named Kota and is an avid runner.

Lahren grew up in Rapid City, South Dakota, and graduated from Central High School in 2010. She earned a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism and political science from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, in 2014.

While at UNLV, she hosted and associate produced the political roundtable program The Scramble. She also interned for South Dakota congresswoman Kristi Noem and was the first intern at Noem’s Rapid City office.

Lahren applied to One America News Network seeking a political-commentary internship, but was offered the opportunity to host her own program instead. She moved to San Diego and began hosting On Point with Tomi Lahren, which debuted in August 2014.

After leaving OANN, she moved to Texas and began hosting Tomi for TheBlaze in November 2015. The program ended with three-minute “Final Thoughts” segments in which she delivered rapid political commentary. The segments became widely popular on social media, and a video about the 2015 Chattanooga shootings brought her broader attention.

In 2016, Lahren appeared in a 26-minute interview on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah. She also endorsed Marco Rubio during the Republican presidential primary.

Lahren left TheBlaze after a 2017 dispute over comments she made on The View about abortion rights. TheBlaze suspended her with pay, and she filed a wrongful-termination lawsuit. The case was settled with an agreement that allowed her to keep her Facebook page while removing videos she had made with TheBlaze.

She subsequently worked in communications for Great America Alliance, an advocacy organization supporting Donald Trump, and joined Fox News as a contributor in August 2017. She has appeared on Fox News and Fox Business programs, including as a guest co-host on Outnumbered, and hosted No Interruption on Fox Nation.

In 2022, she was named host of Tomi Lahren Is Fearless on OutKick. Her television credits also include CPAC All Access, Presidential Debate Reactions, Final Thoughts with Tomi Lahren, and First Thoughts with Tomi Lahren.

Lahren describes herself as a constitutional conservative and has said that she is a commentator rather than a journalist. She has characterized her programs as commentary intended to influence and shape political discussion rather than present news neutrally.

Her public positions have included support for same-sex marriage and abortion rights as a matter of national law, while she has also said that she is personally opposed to abortion. Her comments on race, immigration, Colin Kaepernick, and John McCain have drawn public criticism. In 2020, she defended the Supreme Court decision protecting LGBTQ workers from employment discrimination against criticism from conservative commentators.
