Erielle Reshef

Reshef graduated cum laude from Indiana University with a double bachelor's degree in Political Science and Jewish Studies. Her academic interests in politics, Jewish history and international affairs informed the international focus of her early journalism work.

She later earned a master's degree in Diplomacy and Conflict Studies from IDC Herzliya in Israel, now known as Reichman University. Before entering television news, she had considered careers connected to diplomacy, foreign policy and counterterrorism.

Reshef began her broadcast career with IBA English News, Israel's nationally televised and internationally syndicated English-language newscast. She worked as an anchor and reporter in Israel, covering international affairs, politics, sports, finance and culture.

Her assignments included live reporting from Israel's border with Gaza during separate escalations of cross-border violence. She also anchored coverage of the night Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak was deposed and reported on upheavals across the Middle East.

Her entry into television followed an unexpected audition. While she was living in Israel, her parents and Daniel Frankenstein encouraged her to apply for an anchor position after learning that IBA needed a substitute for colleagues on maternity leave. After an initial rejection, she secured an audition and received the job shortly afterward.

Reshef returned to Oklahoma City and joined KOCO 5 in November 2012. She became a weekend evening anchor before moving to the station's weekday morning anchor team, while also reporting on severe weather, crime, politics, public affairs and major breaking news.

At KOCO, she wrote, anchored and produced the half-hour special "KOCO Chronicle: The Investigation, Conviction, Sentencing of Daniel Holtzclaw." The program earned her and editor Jason Anderson a Regional Emmy Award in the Public Affairs category, also described in her professional biography as a Heartland Emmy-winning project.

Her Oklahoma work brought additional recognition. Readers of Slice Magazine voted her OKC's Best Anchor, and Heritage Hall selected her as a Distinguished Lecturer. She also served on the board of the OU School of International Studies and delivered the keynote address at its 2014 convocation.

Reshef joined ABC News in 2017 as a national correspondent based in New York City. She contributed to Good Morning America, World News Tonight with David Muir, GMA3: What You Need to Know, ABC News Live and Nightline, and also filled in at several ABC anchor desks.

Her ABC assignments included coverage of the COVID-19 pandemic, the nationwide infant formula shortage, shortages of protective equipment, COVID-19 vaccines and long COVID. She also reported on the Tree of Life synagogue massacre, terror attacks in London and Manchester, the Waffle House mass shooting and major weather events.

Reshef led or contributed to coverage of the trials and sentencing of Harvey Weinstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, the murder of Barnard College student Tessa Majors and the investigation into former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. She reported from across the United States, the United Kingdom and the Middle East.

Reshef has been married to Daniel Frankenstein since May 30, 2010. Their wedding was a Jewish ceremony at her family's home in Oklahoma City, officiated by Rabbi Ovadia Goldman.

Reshef and Frankenstein have two sons, Mayr and Mavryk. She has spoken about balancing national news reporting with motherhood and has described family as a central source of stability in her life.
