Dani Beckstrom

Beckstrom was raised in Boise, Idaho, by her parents, Brad Beckstrom and Julie Walker, alongside her sister Jenna and brother Scottie. During her youth in Idaho, she developed an interest in public speaking and presentation, winning the title of Miss Boise in 2011.

She attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, where she studied broadcast journalism and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 2013. While enrolled at BYU, she traveled nationwide as a member of the university's cheer squad and spent time in New York City as an intern in the lifestyle department at NY1. To advance her scientific training, she later completed a Certificate of Broadcast and Operational Meteorology through Mississippi State University in August 2018.

Beckstrom began her professional on-air career in eastern Idaho, working as an anchor and reporter for KPVI News 6 in Pocatello. She subsequently returned to her hometown of Boise to serve as the morning weather forecaster for ABC affiliate KIVI-TV, where she covered mountain snowfall, temperature extremes, and regional wildfire conditions.

From 2016 to 2019, Beckstrom worked as a morning meteorologist for WFTX FOX 4 in Fort Myers, Florida. During this tenure, she gained extensive experience tracking tropical weather systems and humid subtropical conditions. Notably, she served as a primary on-air communicator delivering emergency broadcasts when Hurricane Irma made landfall on Marco Island in September 2017. In June 2019, she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, to become the chief meteorologist at KTNV Channel 13, where she led severe weather coverage focused on desert heat records, dust storms, and flash flooding until July 2022.

In August 2022, Beckstrom joined WABC-TV's Eyewitness News team in New York City as a station meteorologist. Transitioning to the largest media market in the United States allowed her to forecast four distinct seasons, spanning winter nor'easters, coastal storms, and summer heat waves across New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

Beyond local newscasts, Beckstrom expanded her platform through frequent contributions to ABC network programming, including GMA First Look, Good Morning America, and World News Tonight with David Muir. She also anchored special live event coverage, including reporting from One Times Square for the New Year's Eve ball drop welcoming 2026 and covering the New York Knicks ticker tape parade.
