Vic Fuentes

Fuentes met model and actress Danielle Victoria in 2012 during the filming of the music video for the Pierce the Veil single "King for a Day". The couple began dating in 2014 and announced their engagement in March 2021. They were married on April 2, 2022.

The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Violet Valentine, on February 9, 2023. In February 2025, they welcomed their second child, a son named Emery.

Victor Vincent Fuentes was born on February 10, 1983, in San Diego, California, to Vivian K. Fuentes and Victor Gamboa Fuentes, a painter and former jazz musician. He grew up alongside his younger brother Mike, two half-brothers, and one half-sister. Fuentes learned to play the guitar at age seven, receiving early musical guidance and exposure to jazz and Spanish rock from his father.

While attending Mission Bay High School, Fuentes joined his first punk band, 3 Simple Words, alongside his friend Curtis Peoples. After high school, he enrolled at San Diego State University to study graphic design. In 1998, he and his brother formed the skate-punk group Early Times. Following the release of three EPs, the band renamed themselves Before Today due to a copyright conflict. After signing a recording deal with Equal Vision Records, Fuentes left university to focus on music full-time. Before Today released the album A Celebration of an Ending in 2004 before disbanding two years later.

Following the breakup of Before Today, Vic and Mike Fuentes established Pierce the Veil in San Diego in 2006. The duo released their debut studio album, A Flair for the Dramatic, in 2007 before expanding the lineup to include lead guitarist Tony Perry and bassist Jaime Preciado. The group subsequently released Selfish Machines in 2010, which marked a steady expansion of their international audience.

The band attained widespread commercial and mainstream breakthrough with their third album, Collide with the Sky, released in 2012. Featuring the hit single "King for a Day", the record reached the top of the U.S. Rock and Alternative charts. Pierce the Veil followed with Misadventures in 2016 and The Jaws of Life in 2023, performing on major global festival stages such as the Vans Warped Tour, Reading and Leeds, Rock am Ring, Soundwave Festival, and Slam Dunk Festival.

Fuentes is recognized for his high-tenor vocal range, ability to transition into falsetto, and emotionally driven songwriting. His lyrics frequently draw directly from personal life events as well as letters and interactions with fans. The track "Million Dollar Houses (The Painter)" was written about his parents' enduring marriage, while "A Match Into Water" was dedicated to an ex-girlfriend undergoing cancer treatment. Other songs, including "Bulls in the Bronx" and "I Don't Care If You Are Contagious", were composed in response to the personal struggles and losses of dedicated listeners.

In addition to Pierce the Veil, Fuentes was a member of the post-hardcore supergroup Isles & Glaciers, performing on their 2010 EP The Hearts of Lonely People. He served as a touring session guitarist for Cinematic Sunrise and has contributed guest vocals to numerous tracks by other artists, including All Time Low's "A Love Like War", Chiodos's "Love Is a Cat from Hell", Slaves's "Starving for Friends", and Cavetown's 2022 song "a kind thing to do".
