Addison Rae was raised in Lafayette, Louisiana, by Sheri Easterling and Monty Lopez. She has two younger brothers, Enzo Lopez and Lucas Lopez, and an older half-sister, Macye Neumeyer. Through her father, she has Mexican, Cajun French, and English ancestry, while her mother is of European descent.
Rae began competitive dancing at age six and also practiced gymnastics and cheerleading. She briefly studied broadcast journalism at Louisiana State University with the goal of becoming a sports broadcaster, then left the university to pursue her growing TikTok career.
