Jackie DeAngelis

Jackie DeAngelis is the daughter of Louis DeAngelis and Elizabeth DeAngelis. Her father is from Italy and her mother is from Iran, and both worked in a wholesale food distribution business while raising their family in New Jersey. DeAngelis has described her parents as deeply committed to hard work, education and the American dream.

She grew up with her older brother, Louis George DeAngelis, who is an attorney. The siblings share the same July 18 birthday and are three years apart.

In 2021, DeAngelis was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer after a routine mammogram. She chose a bilateral mastectomy at NYU Langone and later underwent reconstruction procedures. She has spoken publicly about the experience to encourage routine breast cancer screening and early detection.

DeAngelis graduated cum laude from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Asian studies and history. She later earned a Juris Doctor from Rutgers School of Law and speaks Mandarin and Farsi.

Her first business-sector position was as a technology analyst at Oaktree Capital Management, where she identified investment opportunities in emerging Asian markets. Her work included analyzing companies, building financial models and interviewing management teams.

DeAngelis began moving toward financial journalism after deciding that she preferred explaining markets while interacting with people. Her legal training and Wall Street experience became part of the analytical foundation for her reporting.

DeAngelis began her business-journalism career as a writer and researcher for CNBC's Mad Money. She later became a reporter for CNBC International and covered market activity from the Middle East between 2010 and 2011, including the economic impact of the Arab Spring and the uprising in Bahrain.

At CNBC, she became chief energy correspondent and anchored the online commodities program Futures Now. She also contributed reports from the New York Stock Exchange, the New York Mercantile Exchange and Nasdaq Marketsite, while presenting business stories for MSNBC and NBC's Today.

Earlier, as CNBC's director of strategic programming and development, DeAngelis helped create financial series and produce network specials featuring Warren Buffett, Timothy Geithner, Bill Gates and Bill Clinton. Her work on Investing in America: A CNBC Town Hall Event with President Obama received an Emmy Award nomination.

After 13 years at CNBC, DeAngelis left the network in December 2018 to join Yahoo Finance. She anchored the midday program The Ticker, covering the day's major financial stories and interviewing business leaders and analysts, including Gretchen Watkins and Anthony Chan.

DeAngelis joined FOX Business Network as a financial correspondent in April 2019. She has provided analysis across FOX News Media, including appearances on FOX News Channel's Outnumbered and FBN's Varney & Co. She also presented a five-day segment on capitalism and socialism for a 2019 FOX Business town hall and interviewed U.S. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross in 2020.

In January 2023, FOX Business launched The Big Money Show, which DeAngelis co-hosts with Taylor Riggs, Brian Brenberg and Dagen McDowell. The program focuses on financial markets, business news and economic developments.
