Jey Uso

Joshua Samuel Fatu was born into the legendary Anoaʻi wrestling dynasty. He is the son of WWE Hall of Famer Solofa Fatu Jr., better known as Rikishi, and Talisua Fuavai. He is the twin brother of Jonathan Fatu (Jimmy Uso) and the older brother of Joseph Fatu (Solo Sikoa). Through his extended family, he is related to wrestling figures such as Roman Reigns, Umaga, and Yokozuna. His ring name uses the Samoan word "uso," which translates to "brother."

Fatu met Takecia Travis while attending Escambia High School in Pensacola, Florida. The high school sweethearts married on February 13, 2014, and have two sons, Jaciyah and Jeyce. The family has also kept three French Bulldogs named Pongo, Mumble, and Jax. On July 6, 2026, Travis filed for divorce after twelve years of marriage, stating in the filing that their union was irretrievably broken.

Joshua Samuel Fatu was born in San Francisco, California, on August 22, 1985, arriving nine minutes after his twin brother Jonathan. Growing up in a household centered around professional wrestling, he also developed a passion for team sports during his teenage years.

He attended Escambia High School in Pensacola, Florida, where he competed in varsity football. After high school, he continued his athletic career at the University of West Alabama, playing linebacker for the Tigers football team from 2003 to 2005. When his football prospects began to wind down, he and his brother chose to follow their father Rikishi and uncle Umaga into professional wrestling, training at the Wild Samoan Training Center and Booker T's wrestling school.

Fatu made his professional wrestling debut alongside his twin brother Jonathan on June 8, 2007, competing as The Fatu Twins in World Xtreme Wrestling. After stints in the National Wrestling Alliance and Xtreme Championship Wrestling, the brothers signed developmental contracts with WWE in 2010. Competing in Florida Championship Wrestling as Jules and Jimmy Uso, they won the FCW Florida Tag Team Championship under the managerial guidance of Sarona Snuka.

The duo made their WWE main roster debut on the May 24, 2010, episode of Raw alongside Tamina, immediately attacking Unified WWE Tag Team Champions The Hart Dynasty. During their early years on the main roster, they embraced their Samoan heritage by performing the traditional Siva Tau war dance during their ring entrances. In March 2014, they captured their first WWE Tag Team Championship by defeating the New Age Outlaws on Raw, embarking on a 202-day reign and winning the Slammy Award for Tag Team of the Year in both 2014 and 2015.

In 2016, The Usos underwent a major character transformation, turning heel and adopting a street-inspired look and attitude centered on the concept of the "Uso Penitentiary." This shift kicked off a celebrated multi-year rivalry with The New Day across SmackDown and pay-per-view events. The Usos went on to become multi-time SmackDown Tag Team Champions, establishing themselves among the premier tag teams in modern wrestling history.

In late 2020, Jey Uso entered a high-profile singles feud with his cousin Roman Reigns over the Universal Championship, earning widespread praise and the CBS Sports Feud of the Year award. Following their brutal Hell in a Cell match in October 2020, Jey aligned himself with Reigns, adopting the moniker "Main Event" Jey Uso and serving as Reigns' right-hand enforcer. Jimmy Uso eventually joined them in 2021, formally creating The Bloodline faction alongside Paul Heyman and later Solo Sikoa and Sami Zayn.

During this era, The Usos unified the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championships to become the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions. Their fifth reign as SmackDown Tag Team Champions lasted a record-breaking 622 days, making it the longest male tag team title reign in WWE history. In April 2023, The Usos main evented Night 1 of WrestleMania 39 against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, marking the first time a tag team championship match headlined WrestleMania since the event's debut in 1985.

Internal tensions within The Bloodline led to a dramatic split in mid-2023. At Money in the Bank in July 2023, The Usos defeated Reigns and Sikoa in the "Bloodline Civil War," where Jey pinned Reigns to hand him his first direct pinfall defeat in over three years. Following a subsequent betrayal by Jimmy at SummerSlam, Jey announced his departure from SmackDown.

In September 2023, Jey transferred to Raw, adopting the popular audience chant "Yeet" and establishing himself as one of the company's most beloved babyfaces. He briefly held the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship alongside Cody Rhodes before focusing entirely on his singles pursuits. At WrestleMania XL in April 2024, Jey defeated his brother Jimmy in a singles match, and later that year in September, he won his first WWE singles title by defeating Bron Breakker for the Intercontinental Championship.

His singles momentum reached new heights in 2025. Entering the 2025 Royal Rumble match at number 20, he won the 30-man contest by last eliminating John Cena. At WrestleMania 41, he challenged Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship and won by submission, securing the first world title of his career. Later in his career, Jey reconciled with Jimmy to resume tag team competition while also occasionally teaming with Reigns and Jacob Fatu under a reformed Bloodline banner.
