
Lara Trump
Lara Trump is an American politician and talk show host known for serving as co-chair of the Republican National Committee. She has also worked as a television producer, political strategist, and Fox News host. Her program My View with Lara Trump debuted on Fox News in 2025.
Personal life
Lara Trump has been married to Eric Trump since November 8, 2014. Eric Trump is the third child of Donald Trump, making Lara Trump a member of the Trump family by marriage. The couple married at Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, after a six-year relationship.
They have two children. Their son, Eric Luke Trump, was born on September 12, 2017, and their daughter, Carolina Dorothy Trump, was born on August 19, 2019.
Television production and hosting
Trump worked as a story coordinator and producer for the television news magazine Inside Edition from 2012 to 2016. She later produced and hosted Real News Update, a Trump Productions program distributed online.
She joined Fox News as a contributor in 2021 and parted ways with the network in 2022 after becoming involved with a political campaign. In February 2025, she began hosting the Fox News weekend program My View with Lara Trump.
Work on Donald Trump's presidential campaigns
During Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign, Trump led the Trump-Pence Women's Empowerment Tour and served as the Trump Tower liaison for Brad Parscale's Giles-Parscale company. After Donald Trump won the election, she became an online producer and fundraiser for his political operation.
She served as a senior consultant for Donald Trump's 2020 reelection campaign and acted as a campaign surrogate with broader advisory responsibilities. She also spoke at the Save America rally that preceded the January 6 attack on the United States Capitol, appearing alongside Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. During the 2024 campaign, she spoke at a North Carolina fundraiser for the Log Cabin Republicans.
Republican National Committee leadership
Donald Trump endorsed Lara Trump for Republican National Committee co-chair in February 2024, alongside Michael Whatley, who was endorsed for chair. She said that the RNC's central task under her leadership would be electing Donald Trump president and supporting his political agenda.
The RNC elected her co-chair by unanimous vote on March 8, 2024. She left the position in December 2024 and later withdrew her name from consideration for a Florida Senate appointment. She had also declined to run for the North Carolina Senate seat vacated by Richard Burr and endorsed Ted Budd.
Music career
In 2023, Trump released a cover of Tom Petty's song "I Won't Back Down." The recording reached No. 10 on Billboard's Digital Song Sales chart and No. 6 on the Country Digital Song Sales chart.
She followed the release with additional songs, adding a music career to her work in television and Republican politics.
Education and advocacy
Trump graduated cum laude from North Carolina State University with a bachelor's degree in communications. She also studied pastry arts at the French Culinary Institute in New York and worked as a personal trainer.
She has volunteered with the North Shore Animal League America and has been described as an animal welfare advocate.
