Trevon Diggs

Diggs was raised in Maryland alongside his older brothers, Stefon and Darez, both of whom also played football. His brother Stefon went on to star as an NFL wide receiver, while Darez played collegiate football at UAB and Morgan State. Their father, Aron Diggs, passed away in January 2008 at age 39 from congestive heart failure, leaving Stefon to take on a paternal leadership role for his younger brothers.

Diggs has three children: two sons, Aaiden and Chosen Alexander, and a daughter, Harlo Rose. His relationship with Joie Chavis began in December 2021, and the couple welcomed Harlo Rose in August 2024.

Diggs began his high school career at Thomas S. Wootton High School in Rockville, Maryland, before transferring after his sophomore year to The Avalon School in Wheaton to follow coach Tyree Spinner. A versatile standout, he played both wide receiver and defensive back, earning two All-Washington, D.C. Metro honors at receiver before committing to the University of Alabama.

Under head coach Nick Saban at Alabama, Diggs played multiple positions as a true freshman in 2016, contributing as a safety, wide receiver, and return specialist. He transitioned full-time to cornerback as a sophomore in 2017, the same year Alabama captured the CFP national championship. As a junior in 2018, he secured a starting role before a broken foot against Arkansas cut his season short after six games. Diggs completed his collegiate career with a strong 2019 senior campaign, tallying 37 tackles, three interceptions, and two defensive fumble return touchdowns, including a 100-yard score against Tennessee, earning First-team All-SEC recognition.

The Dallas Cowboys selected Diggs in the second round with the 51st overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft. He immediately earned a starting role under head coach Mike McCarthy and defensive coordinator Mike Nolan, recording three interceptions, 14 pass deflections, and a sack during his rookie season despite missing time with a fractured foot.

Diggs produced a historic breakout campaign in 2021 under defensive coordinator Dan Quinn. He intercepted a pass in each of the first six games of the season, tying Brian Russell's NFL record for consecutive games with an interception to open a season and matching Rod Woodson's mark of seven interceptions in six games. Diggs finished the season with a league-leading 11 interceptions, tying Everson Walls' 1981 Dallas franchise single-season record and posting the highest single-season interception total by any NFL player in 40 years. His performance earned him First-team All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors.

In 2022, Diggs earned his second consecutive Pro Bowl selection after starting all 17 regular-season games, posting 59 total tackles, three interceptions, and 14 pass deflections.

In July 2023, Diggs signed a five-year contract extension with the Cowboys. However, his 2023 campaign was cut short in September when he suffered a torn ACL in his left knee during practice after only two games. He returned to action for the 2024 season opener and intercepted a pass in Week 1, but ongoing knee complications in the same leg limited him to 11 appearances before requiring season-ending surgery in December 2024.

Diggs appeared in eight games for Dallas in 2025 before being waived on December 30. He was claimed off waivers by the Green Bay Packers the following day and made two appearances, including an NFC Wild Card playoff matchup. After being released by Green Bay in January 2026, Diggs signed a one-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks in August 2026.
