Jimmy Fallon

Fallon has been married to film producer Nancy Juvonen since December 22, 2007. They first met on the set of Saturday Night Live and became closer while working together on Fever Pitch, which Juvonen produced. Fallon proposed in August 2007 at the dock of Juvonen's family home in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire.

The couple have two daughters, Winnie Rose Fallon and Frances Cole Fallon. Winnie was born in 2013 and Frances was born in 2014, with both children born via surrogate.

Fallon moved to Los Angeles at 21 to pursue stand-up comedy and studied with the Groundlings improv troupe. He performed at clubs including the Improv in Los Angeles and Caroline's on Broadway in New York City. After an unsuccessful first audition in 1997, he joined Saturday Night Live as a featured player in September 1998 and became a repertory player during his second season.

His impressions of Robert De Niro, Jerry Seinfeld, Howard Stern, Chris Rock, Adam Sandler, and other celebrities made him one of the show's most prominent mimics. His original characters included Nick Burns, Pat “Sully” Sullivan of the Boston Teens, and Jarret from “Jarret's Room.”

Fallon co-hosted the show's “Weekend Update” segment with Tina Fey after initially planning to leave Saturday Night Live after three seasons. He also performed “The Barry Gibb Talk Show” with Justin Timberlake, beginning a long-running professional collaboration between the two performers. Fallon left the program in May 2004 after six seasons.

After leaving Saturday Night Live, Fallon pursued film roles, including leading parts in Taxi (2004) and Fever Pitch (2005). He also appeared in Almost Famous, Factory Girl, The Year of Getting to Know Us, Whip It, and the animated Arthur films. The modest reception of Taxi and Fever Pitch contributed to a period in which he reconsidered his next career direction.

NBC announced Fallon as the successor to Conan O'Brien on Late Night in 2008. Late Night with Jimmy Fallon premiered in March 2009 and developed a format centered on music, games, dancing, impressions, and online-friendly comedy. The Roots served as the show's house band, and a 2010 “History of Rap” performance with Justin Timberlake became one of its first viral clips.

Fallon hosted the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards in 2010. His work on Late Night also led to the comedy album Blow Your Pants Off, which won the Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album in 2013.

NBC announced in 2013 that Fallon would succeed Jay Leno as the sixth permanent host of The Tonight Show. The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon debuted on February 17, 2014, with 11.3 million viewers. His version of the program combined celebrity interviews with musical performances, comedy sketches, impressions, and games.

The show continued Fallon's emphasis on collaborations with musicians and performers. He worked with guests on recurring segments involving lip-sync performances, musical parodies, and other comedy formats that circulated widely online. He also hosted the Golden Globe Awards in 2017.

Fallon drew criticism for a 2016 interview with Donald Trump during the presidential election campaign and later apologized for the tone of the appearance. In 2020, he and WubbaNub released limited-edition pacifiers based on characters from his children's books. In 2023, he joined Stephen Colbert, Seth Meyers, Jimmy Kimmel, and John Oliver on the podcast Strike Force Five during the Writers Guild of America strike.

Music has been a central part of Fallon's comedy since he began playing guitar at 13. He released the comedy albums The Bathroom Wall in 2002 and Blow Your Pants Off in 2012, followed by the holiday album Holiday Seasoning in 2024. His musical work has included collaborations with artists such as Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Ariana Grande, Dolly Parton, Meghan Trainor, the Jonas Brothers, and The Roots.

Fallon has written several books, including I Hate This Place: A Pessimist's Guide to Life, co-written with his sister Gloria, and children's books such as Your Baby's First Word Will Be DADA, Everything Is Mama, This Is Baby, 5 More Sleeps 'Til Christmas, and Nana Loves You More. He returned to the College of Saint Rose in 2009 to receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications and an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters.

His honors include a Grammy Award for Blow Your Pants Off, Primetime Emmy Awards, People's Choice Awards for late-night hosting, Critics' Choice recognition for Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and a Webby Awards Lifetime Achievement Award.
