Seth Curry

Curry comes from a prominent athletic family. He is the son of former NBA guard Dell Curry and former Virginia Tech volleyball player Sonya Curry, and grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, while his father played for the Charlotte Hornets. His older brother is NBA guard Stephen Curry, and his younger sister, Sydel Curry, played collegiate volleyball at Elon University before marrying NBA player Damion Lee.

On September 14, 2019, Curry married former professional volleyball player Callie Rivers in Malibu, California. Rivers is the daughter of NBA head coach Doc Rivers and the sister of Curry's former Duke teammate Austin Rivers. The couple has three children together, including daughter Carter and son Cash, who was born in November 2021. Curry is a Pentecostal Christian.

Curry played high school basketball at Charlotte Christian School, where he was a three-year starter and earned all-state and academic honor roll honors. He enrolled at Liberty University for the 2008-09 season and made an immediate impact, leading all freshmen nationwide with an average of 20.2 points per game and breaking the Big South Conference single-season freshman scoring record while wearing jersey number 30.

Following his freshman season, Curry transferred to Duke University and sat out the 2009-10 campaign due to NCAA transfer rules. He became a starter as a redshirt sophomore after Kyrie Irving was sidelined with an injury. Over his three playing seasons at Duke, Curry developed into one of the team's primary scorers, culminating in a senior season where he earned first-team All-ACC honors and was named a second-team All-American by The Sporting News.

After going undrafted in the 2013 NBA draft, Curry signed a non-guaranteed deal with the Golden State Warriors before being waived and allocated to their NBA Development League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors. In Santa Cruz, he formed a backcourt tandem with Mychel Thompson while their respective brothers, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, starred in Golden State. Curry earned two NBA D-League All-Star selections during his time with Santa Cruz and the Erie BayHawks, while receiving short 10-day call-ups with the Memphis Grizzlies, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Phoenix Suns.

His breakthrough came during the 2015 NBA Summer League with the New Orleans Pelicans, where he averaged 24.3 points per game to make the All-NBA Summer League first team. That performance earned him a guaranteed two-year contract with the Sacramento Kings in July 2015. With Sacramento, he earned his first career NBA starts and finished the season strongly, including a 20-point, 15-assist double-double against the Phoenix Suns.

Curry signed with the Dallas Mavericks in July 2016 and enjoyed a productive starting campaign, averaging 12.8 points per game before missing the 2017-18 season due to surgery for a stress reaction in his left tibia. He signed with the Portland Trail Blazers for the 2018-19 season, competing in the Three-Point Contest at All-Star Weekend and advancing to the Western Conference Finals. That series against Golden State marked the first time two brothers competed against each other in an NBA playoff series.

Curry returned to Dallas on a four-year contract in 2019 and posted a career-high 37 points against the Miami Heat in February 2020. In November 2020, Dallas traded him to the Philadelphia 76ers, where he played under his father-in-law Doc Rivers. In Philadelphia, Curry started every regular season and playoff game he appeared in, averaging 18.8 points per game during the 2021 postseason and shooting 59.6 percent from three-point range in a seven-game series against the Atlanta Hawks.

In February 2022, Philadelphia traded Curry alongside Ben Simmons and Andre Drummond to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for James Harden and Paul Millsap. In his Brooklyn debut, he scored 23 points to help snap an 11-game losing skid. Following his tenure with Brooklyn, Curry signed with Dallas for a third time in July 2023, before being traded to his hometown team, the Charlotte Hornets, in February 2024.

During the 2024-25 season with Charlotte, Curry led the entire NBA in three-point field goal percentage by shooting 45.6 percent from beyond the arc. In October 2025, he signed with the Golden State Warriors, reuniting on the court with his brother Stephen as NBA teammates.
