Trick Williams

Belton began dating fellow WWE wrestler Anriel Howard, who performs under the ring name Lash Legend, in November 2024. The couple bought a home together the following year. They announced their engagement in November 2025.

On June 20, 2026, Belton and Howard married in Port Antonio, Jamaica. Belton is the son of Monica and Patrick Belton, and he grew up alongside his brothers André and Hassan.

Belton grew up in Columbia, South Carolina, and attended Keenan High School. He played basketball and football, totaling 1,157 receiving yards and nine touchdowns as a senior. He earned a full athletic scholarship to Hampton University. A hamstring injury cut his second season short. He gave up the scholarship in 2014 to walk on at the University of South Carolina, following in his father's footsteps.

He played alongside his brothers André and Hassan for the Gamecocks. During the 2015 season, he recorded 11 receptions for 121 yards. Belton graduated in December 2016 with a degree in physical education. He went undrafted in the 2017 NFL draft. He worked as an assistant coach and student teacher at Airport High School in West Columbia before playing in The Spring League. In May 2018, he attended an NFL rookie minicamp tryout with the Philadelphia Eagles.

After his release from camp, Belton submitted an audition tape to the XFL. WWE talent scouts noticed the tape and invited him to a wrestling tryout in December 2018. Belton moved to Philadelphia to live with his uncle and train at Combat Zone Wrestling. He worked as an Orangetheory fitness coach by day and trained in the ring at night. He created the ring persona "Sweet Daddy Trick," taking inspiration from blaxploitation films and his uncle's nickname. His first recorded independent match took place in January 2020 against DJ Hyde. He later moved to Los Angeles to train at the KnokX Pro Wrestling Academy.

Belton signed a developmental contract with WWE in February 2021 and reported to the WWE Performance Center. He debuted on television on the September 14, 2021 episode of NXT under the ring name Trick Williams. He aligned himself with Carmelo Hayes to form the Trick Melo Gang. Williams served as Hayes's ringside hype man and tag partner before branching out into singles competition.

In August 2023, Williams amicably separated from Hayes to pursue individual titles. He won the NXT North American Championship from "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio at NXT No Mercy in September 2023. His reign lasted three days before Mysterio regained the belt on NXT television. Williams won the Men's Iron Survivor Challenge at NXT Deadline that December.

Tensions between Williams and Hayes grew in early 2024. Hayes turned on Williams after a loss at NXT Vengeance Day, revealing he had previously ambushed Williams backstage. The feud culminated at NXT Stand & Deliver, where Williams defeated Hayes in the main event. He defeated Hayes again inside a steel cage on NXT television.

Williams defeated Ilja Dragunov at NXT Spring Breakin' in April 2024 to claim his first NXT Championship. He lost the title to Ethan Page at NXT Heatwave after 75 days, but regained it on October 1, 2024, during NXT's debut broadcast on the CW Network with CM Punk as referee. Williams defended the belt against Page and Ridge Holland before dropping it to Oba Femi in a triple threat match at NXT New Year's Evil in January 2025.

In April 2025, Williams crossed over to Total Nonstop Action Wrestling during a partnership between WWE and TNA. He made an appearance at TNA Rebellion, attacking Joe Hendry. Williams turned heel on NXT shortly after, demanding title matches and mocking other wrestlers.

Williams faced Hendry for the TNA World Championship at NXT Battleground on May 25, 2025. Williams won the match to take the title. The win made him the first WWE-contracted wrestler to hold a TNA championship. He defended the belt against Elijah at Against All Odds, Hendry and Mike Santana at Slammiversary, and Moose at Emergence. Santana defeated Williams at Bound for Glory in October 2025, ending his title reign at 140 days.

Williams finished his run in NXT late in 2025 and declared himself a free agent on the December 26 episode of SmackDown. He joined the SmackDown roster permanently on January 2, 2026. In his SmackDown in-ring debut, he defeated Rey Fénix. He entered the 2026 Royal Rumble at number 10, eliminating two competitors before Cody Rhodes eliminated him.

Williams aligned with rapper Lil Yachty to form the Trick-Yachty Gang. At WrestleMania 42 on April 19, 2026, Williams defeated Sami Zayn to win the WWE United States Championship. The victory marked his first main-roster title in WWE. Williams and Yachty abolished the weekly open challenge for the championship, turning Williams back into a fan favorite. Williams retained the title against Zayn at Backlash and against Ricky Saints at Night of Champions. His reign lasted 105 days before Baron Corbin pinned him at SummerSlam in August 2026.
